Problem:
Game does not boot, getting error #RAM 1, customer sent it in because acceleration does not work.
Troubleshooting/dianosis steps:
- Getting "RAM 1" error
- Replaced 2114 @ 7F on video board
- Now getting "RAM 3" error
- Replaced 2114 @ 7H on video board
- Now getting "RAM 23" error
- Replaced 2114 @ 7J on video board
- Now getting "RAM 27" error
- Replaced 2114 @ 7K on video board
- Now getting "RAM 2" error
- Replaced 2114 @ 8H on video board
- Game now boots, however accleration does not work
- I don't have a pole position cabinet so I tested by placing
2 resistors together like
+5v ----=1K resistor=----*----=4K resistor---- GND
And place a wire in between the two resistors (*) into edge connector pin "F" on the main CPU board,
was getting just 00 as acceleration in test mode
- Replaced ADC0804 @ 8J
- Now acceleration works!
- Game works
